Recognized for its work with various environmentally-focused projects, Stout & Caldwell was engaged to provide a comprehensive mix of civil engineering, surveying and environmental services for Marina at Southwinds. The 12-acre existing marina is being transformed into a mixed use development with residential, commercial, retail and restaurants. Located on the Forked River, the site is within the regional growth area of New Jersey Pinelands Management and sits adjacent to a United States Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) National Wildlife Preserve with documented endangered species habitat. In addition to conceptual and major site plans, the team provided boundary and topography surveys. Its environmental work included an Environmental Impact Statement and storm water design plus both wetlands delineation with LOI and wetlands mitigation. Key to the project scope was the team’s completion of an endangered/threatened species survey, habitat assessment and a variety of special permitting, including NJ Pinelands and NJ Tidelands to name a few. Once complete, the mixed use site will bring housing, employment opportunities and taxable income for the region. READ MORE
